Flashback Friday: One Year Blog Anniversary

This is not just another normal Flashback Friday post.

This is one for the record books.  I have been blogging (again) for one whole year!

Reality is, I have been blogging for a whole lot longer than just a year, it’s more like seven-ish years since I started in 2004. However, it wasn’t this same House of Lovelock blog. My blog name changed several times as I went through a phase (Ahem...adding child after child) in which I had to change my address several times due to the growth of our family and the matching blog names. While my blog was “successful” as far as blogs go (I mean, people were reading it, surprisingly!) I ended up having some blog related weirdness (stalkerish people) that I just couldn’t handle at the time. Pregnancy hormones &  the added stress of weirdos don’t mix. In the end, I decided to stop blogging in early 2009. BUT, as it turns out, people are bizarre in real life too, and 2009 had some of the strangest real life stalking I’ve ever experienced… no strike that, I was followed once in High School and that was really scary too. (WHY do people stalk me? Why?) Anyway, after all that, I decided blogging or not, I was getting followed by some crazy or another (and I was pretty much addicted to blogging) so “Why NOT blog?!” In January 2010, I gave in and started this fun family blog.

In honor of this delightful One Year Blog Anniversary (and no stalkers as of yet), I’m going to giveaway some favorite things from my favorite online grocer/drugstore Vitacost. I am literally addicted to some of these products & this store, seriously. So weird, I know, but I can’t help it. Homeopathic drugs & earthy scents are like the best thing ever. (yes, that sounds way worse than just weird…)

Remember how much I love this scent? Since I discovered it I haven’t bought anything else.

If you’d like to enter my giveaway and get some fresh Basil love in your own life, just let me know which of this years blog posts has been your favorite by leaving the link in your comment. (And don’t forget to leave your name, blog link or email address so I can contact you if you win.)  I will close the giveaway next Wednesday and announce the winner shortly after that.

I obviously can’t win, but in honor of Flashback Friday, here’s my favorite post from this year.

(And I just found out Vitacost is giving away $10 to new customers, so if you haven’t bought anything from them before you can get the $10 here! You are going to love this store. They also carry St. Dalfour products too – which I’ve been addicted to ever since I lived in England. Yum!)

Okay so I figuered shipping to Japan wasn’t part of the agreement, so here I am late on the list! But I do love reading your blog so here goes….though, I adore the “shoe-ish” tights as well, I must say I cracked up out loud by myself in the living room when I read about Jude and Zara’s name battle–“the Jesus card”. Might be borderline, but I thought it was stinkin’ hilarious that he thought to go “there.” !!! Love, love it. It’s a good reminder for me to record those moments with my own kids.ReplyCancel
