Snack Time! Featuring Alpha Burritos

If you have kids, you know two things: 1. There are never enough hours in any day. 2. Snack or die.

I’m a huge supporter of snacks for kids. I believe it’s essential to keeping them both healthy and happy – they shouldn’t go more than 2 hours without something to eat. (If you haven’t been doing this, and notice your kids are more cranky than not, try it and see if it makes a difference!) When Mom’s Meet asked if I wanted to partner with them to share about Alpha burritos and to giveaway a $25 Walmart gift card on my blog, I thought it was great way to introduce the topic of kids and the always essential snacking that has been such a huge part of parenting for us.

Dr. Karyn Purvis was a huge influence on us to really take food seriously. She says, “Parents must always be mindful to look at their children holistically — body, soul and spirit.  In doing so, it is important to understand and meet the needs of your child’s body, including your child’s nutritional needs.” Her recommendation is for children to be fed every two hours, and try to get as much protein in there as you can! Which is easier said then done – somedays I feel like all we’ve done is eat, haha! That’s why Alpha’s 100% plant based protein is a fast way to get something ready for either a meal or a snack.

Tonight we snacked on burritos in while watching Jeremy Wade’s Mighty Rivers. The boys wait all week for this show, because you can’t ever get enough fishing.
